My son was so excited!! We sat elfie on the table in his spot and had her holding the mug facing out. My daughter passed away a couple of years ago and me and my wife are raising our granddaughter. I of the traditions she had was the elf on the shelf. Well we could not find the original so I had to come up with a story because a new one showed up. Every year we write her a letter from the old elf telling her that her mother is doing good and there is a special gift that she picked out. This year it will be the mug. I am sure she will love it.
